Alpine Snow Skiing Program...

In 2010, Leaps of Faith took their waterskiing abilities to the snowy mountains for the first time in the club's 20years. Even the weather report of rain and snow didn't discourage our skiers, volunteers and instructors from New England Handicapp Sports Assocition,NH who were all very excited for the day to begin. Full of smiles, stories, and song's everyone proceeded to the mountain and began about 10am. Each of our skier's had one instructor and a volunteer with them. Even though the snow condition's were a bit mush it was difficult to pull everyone off the slope for lunch. During lunch everyone got to share their favorite moment's of th morning as well as expressing their excitment for the afternoon. We were able to have a large amount of press coverage through out the afternoon from newspapers across the area as well as FOX61 doing a clip that evening. We were very fortunate to have Ed Beckley, the GM of Mt Southington to donate lift tickets, rentals and lunch for everyone. Following the event about 25 people got together and had dinner at the Outback in Southington. Both Ed Beckley of Mt Southington and Tom Kersey the director of NEHSA were given puter bowls engraved with appreciation from our organization. This day was a great success for all involved and we will look forward to hosting another event in 2011. We want to send out a thanks to our instructors who came from NH and RI and volunteered their time for our event as well as everyone involved that day.
